Don't give up. Don't ever give up!

"At age 5 his Father died.
At age 16 he quit school.
At age 17 he had already lost 4 jobs.
Between ages 18 & 22, he was a railroad conductor & failed.
He joined the army & washed out there. 
He applied for law school he was rejected. 
He became an insurance sales man & failed.
 At age 20 his wife left him 
He became a cook & dishwasher in a small cafe. 
At age 65 he retired. Decided to commit suicide, he had failed so much. But, he realized still one thing he could do better than anyone "cooking"
He borrowed $87, bought & fried up chicken using his recipe, went door to door to sell them in Kentucky. 
At age 88 Colonel Sanders, founder of KFC was a billionaire."

What, in your opinion, is strength?

What, in your opinion, is strength? (No judgements here. Just want to know what it means to you.)

To me, STRENGTH, is the moment when all else tells you, pushes you or avails itself to you to do one thing and you do the right thing anyway. STRENGTH is when you are able to stand alone in your truth and on your convictions. STRENGTH is when you remain in your truth of the moment.

The Elevator Ride

I had an interesting conversation on the elevator with a sales agent for an office space yesterday. What was most interesting was her approach to how she did her sales.

I asked her how she got her clients and she said:

1) ATTACK THE SALES AND THE BOTTOMLINE AT THE SAME TIME. Her words: "do you want a (one-off) sale or do you want a sale and be done?" I liked that. I took it as, if we go after our bottomline for the year or years to come then we can meet our bottomline and create loyalty under the brand.

2) STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS
3) "THINK ABOUT THE CLIENT IN ALL ASPECTS"
4) SAY 'NO' A LOT
5) BRANDING IS EVERYTHING
(I'll explain my definition for the other steps at another time)

The truth of the matter is, I wasn't scared to ask and I got plenty from just an elevator ride. #NoDaysOff

Do this before you start to advertise

"The first thing to do when you start your advertising campaign is to take a figurative step back. Revisit your market research and ask yourself these questions:

Who are my potential customers?

How many are there?

Where are they mostly located?

Where do they now find the information I want to provide?


What can I offer that they're not already getting from this other source?

What knowledge and skills do I offer?

What image do I want to project?

How do I compare with my competition and how can I be better?

Once you've answered these critical questions and you know exactly who you're targeting, with what, and why, it's time to devise your direct contact campaign."

I am...

I am better than I was. I am my tomorrow. I am important. I am resourceful. I am confident. I am apologetic. I am vulnerable because I live in the world I created for myself. I am respected. I am loved. I am hated and I am unknown. I am a zoo keeper, protecting my caged feelings from a cruel world but I am strong. I am heart-driven and I am creative. I am challenged. I am a proud son. A proud friend and a proud brother. I am alive and I am rejoicing with every breath. I am flawed and not without error. I am a work in progress but most of all, I am ME! God isn't done with me yet! Tips on how to get the most out of your day before it starts!

Prepare the day, then SEIZE it. (Tips on how to get the most out of your day before it starts)

Your day should begin way before your day even starts. Here's some tips I use to make my day productive and less stressful:

  • * Get up atleast 3 hours before you have to be anywhere. Yup, I said 3 hours. This is so you don't have to rush. Rushing ruins the day before it ever gets started.
  • * Get some water or tea into your system for hydration.
  • * Exercise - This is to get the blood in your brain working. Your brain is resetting in the morning, so by exercising your brain is getting what it needs to function clearly, creatively and reduce your stress. (SEX does count. Just make sure you both break a sweat, okay?)
  • * Shower and take a moment to wash off anything troubling you. Let it go right down the drain. It's a new day.
  • * EAT - I'm not saying to just throw anything into your body to feel full. This is important fuel for the first part of your day so be selective as to what you put into your body. (If you're picky about who you let in your house, you should be mindful of the food you put in your body - both can effect your vibe and your mood for the day.
  • * Take a Moment - Pray, Mediate, just take a moment to be present of all things around you and within you.
  • * Write something inspirational to yourself. Read something that will enlighten/inspire you. Plan to act on that inspiration TODAY.
  • * Genuinely, tell someone Thank You today. (If a person inspires you, tell them so)
  • * Tell someone (New/Old) you LOVE them.
  • * Write down your 3 Top Objectives for the day that will make you feel great by the end of it. Brainstorm how you will attack and accomplish those objectives.
  • *Dress like you care and the people who are important will notice. Plus, when you look good, you feel good and when you feel good, nothing can stop you. #Confidence
Prepare the day, now go SEIZE it. #CarpeDiem
